Description A plaintiff-side personal injury firm in San Rafael is seeking a part-time contract attorney to provide pre-litigation support. This role is ideal for attorneys with strong client-facing experience in sensitive legal matters and a background in plaintiff-side work, even if not exclusively in personal injury. Key Responsibilities + Lead the drafting and review of demand packages for settlement negotiations. + Provide strategic guidance on case development during the pre-litigation phase. + Maintain regular communication with clients, offering empathetic and professional support. + Review and analyze medical records, treatment timelines, and damages to support case valuation. + Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure timely and organized case management. + Assist with litigation preparation as needed, including drafting pleadings and coordinating with experts and investigators. + Advise on claims handling and negotiation strategies with insurance carriers. Requirements Qualifications + Licensed attorney in California with 2+ years of plaintiff-side experience (personal injury, workers' compensation, employment law, civil litigation, or civil rights). + Strong understanding of pre-litigation workflows and client advocacy. + Experience handling sensitive client communications and navigating emotionally charged legal matters. + Familiarity with California personal injury procedures and insurance claims is a plus. + Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. + Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite. + Must be based in Northern California and available to work onsite in San Rafael 1-2 times per week. + Remote candidates will be considered only if they have strong plaintiff-side experience and are Northern California-based.
